STANDING OUT FROM THE CROWD

 

Believe it or not there was a time when I use to try to be something other than what I was. Let me explain. When I first started designing, the trend was very delicate, simple jewelry pieces. I felt that my pieces were "too much" and would always try to create smaller pieces. Each and every time, the designs would still come out as these elaborate, detailed, and bold pieces. After some years of trying to force my hand to do something other than what my designs wanted to be, I finally gave in. I mean, as you can see by my portfolio, I wasn't very successful at doing it any way. So now instead of looking at my pieces as "too much", I now look at them as pieces of wearable art. Art that can be observed as standing pieces but also worn out of appreciation. Every artist has to face the battle of going with the crowd or standing out from the crowd. It may be difficult at first, but I promise, you will get the hang of it soon enough. - Sacred
